Design Associate

We are looking for a self-driven graphic designer to join our team. As a Design Associate at Darkroom, your primary duty will be to develop and assist in the development of email, marketing collateral, and landing page designs for a variety of clients. Our designers add immense value to our clients work through design and strategies. The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about using their design skills to tell a compelling story and help our customers grow their businesses.

This is a remote job, and is open to candidates based in Portugal with a preference to those located in the Lisbon area. This role supports teams working in US Eastern Standard/Daylight Time and should be flexible to support and work in these times.

Pay Rate: $1500 - $1800 USD / month

What You’ll Do:

  • Creating and designing unique and conversion-based email campaigns and flows.

  • Quickly ideate on email designs and implement changes quickly given client or internal feedback.

  • Collaborate with the retention marketing team to execute on designs.

  • Creating GIFs, graphics, and images for SMS marketing campaign usage.

  • Email marketing template creation.

  • Develop comprehensive design strategies that can be incorporated into other client marketing initiatives.

  • Design high converting landing page designs that follow clients brand guidelines.

  • Work alongside Darkroom’s Design and Brand & Identity departments and convert their visions to purposeful use through design elements.

  • Adhering to brand guidelines, and adapting existing creative for email, landing page, and other graphics usage based on the development of design systems.

  • Work alongside a Design Lead on projects that span Brand Identity creation, User-interface for digital products, and social graphics

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

  • 5+ years of design experience.

  • Past email design experience with a digitally-focused portfolio.

  • Experience with web and HTML based design.

  • Experience working with US-based clients and teams.

  • Interactions directly with clients/accounts is a plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Highly creative and imaginative.

  • Experience with Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator.

  • Excellent taste and aesthetic skills.

  • Excellent project management skills.

  • Ready to take the initiative and find solutions when given little direction.

  • Able to iterate in a fast paced environment.

  • Communication & presentation skills.

  • Accepts and provides constructive feedback.
